A Little Distraction

On a day of disgusting images circulating from yesterday’s Capitol Hill riots, a few more pics from the beautiful Studebaker National Museum with Leica Q2-M.

1976 American Motors Pacer

No masterpieces but here are some shots directly out of the new Leica Q2-Monochom. These are the JPGs directly out of the camera. I also took RAW but very little could be improved by using the RAW files on these images…my opinion.

On the last day of 2020 I found it HILARIOUS and a bit IRONIC that one of the worst cars ever built (also my opinion) was being showcased at the Studebaker National Museum at the end of one of the worst years many of us will experience.

Leica Q2-Monochrom!

No. I didn’t misspell anything. In this context “Monochrom” is correct. This amazing piece of equipment arrived today! If you don’t know why it’s a big deal, that’s OK. Many, maybe most, will never understand why anyone would buy a crazy expensive camera that ONLY shoots black and white. if that’s you, it’s simple. You shouldn’t own one.

Don’t be a joy thief. Let me enjoy mine. I love my Leica Q-P. This new toy is a whole new level of enjoyment. My photography hobby began 50+ years ago. It was all black and white. I learned to do it all, rolling my own film from bulk canisters to developing the prints in the tiny closet-darkroom we had in our home on the edge of the Maasai Mara. So for me it’s a return to my childhood but without all the chemicals and films with lights leaks. Leica Q2 Monochrom.

I'm a coffee freak. There, I said it!

I may or may not be a coffee geek. I recently cancelled two coffee club subscriptions. Now I’m working my way through a delicious “coffee flight” with 21 samples. From that I’ll pick my coffee playlist in my new club, sit back, relax and wait for deliciousness to show up on my doorstep...enjoying freshly roasted specialty coffee beans in a fresh new year. Some of my favorite coffee tools. My favorite coffee tools far exceed the number of allowable pics in one post. I have a lot of favorites. Don’t judge me!

Homemade "Kalua" Deliciousness

Well, well! What have we here? Production has begun on numerous bottles of this deliciousness, Christmas gifts for friends. Technically, we can’t call it Kahlua but, it is homemade coffee liqueur. I wonder if you made the “nice” or the “naughty” list? Oh, serving suggestion: drizzle generously over French vanilla ice cream.
